LED high bay lighting installed in the roof of a Burwell blast room

Lighting and Handrails

Burwell blast rooms are equipped with high-quality LED lighting to provide clear visibility in all conditions, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment. Proper illumination eliminates the risk of poorly lit areas, helping operators work confidently and accurately at all times.

All blast rooms also include handrails designed and installed to meet AS1657:2018 standards, including platform handrails where required. Safety is a top priority at Burwell, and these features ensure secure movement and operation throughout the blast room.

Doors

Burwell blast room equipment access doors, hinged swing and bifold panels with viewing window

Option 1 - Swing or Bifold Doors

Burwell’s hinged swing doors are made out of fire-retardant modular insulation panels. The insulation panels are cost-effective & straightforward to install. These provide the operator with easy, clear, unobstructed access to the Blast Booth.

Burwell rubber roll-up door on an industrial blast room, push button operated

Option 2 - Burwell Rubber Roll-Up Door

Designed and manufactured to suit each specific room size and with internal and external electronic push button control, the Rubber Roll-Up Door is the ultimate in operator ease.

Key Features

  • The rubber roll-up door will optimise facility floor space in front of the blast facility. Traditional steel swing doors require a substantial clear opening in front of the blast facility.
  • The rubber roll-up door is push-button operated, substantially decreasing manual labour required for the open/close process. This is also an important issue regarding worker safety.
  • The internal push buttons for up and down will be dust-proof housed within metal enclosures, complete with rubber boots to ensure protection from abrasive.
  • Rubber roll-up doors create a far superior seal than traditional steel doors; substantially lowering abrasive losses and increasing worker safety by abrasive not escaping through poorly sealed doors.
  • Rubber roll-up doors are less likely to be damaged by users when pushing objects into the room. Steel doors when damaged may require repair and/or replacement if they cannot be straightened correctly to ensure a perfect seal.
